The new tram service is underway and the fleet of 16 new trams now make the journey to Fleetwood from Star Gate (Blackpool) in just 55 mins.
The new stations along the way have been finished and already are proving huge crowd puller with both the old and young.
The vintage trams still run along the main golden mile and the mix of old works well together. You can buy day passes on the trams, so you don't need to pay for each trip along Blackpool 7 miles of golden sands. The passes can be used on the tram service aswell as the local bus routes.

The route that the Olympic torch will take when it travels through Blackpool has been revealed. The torch will arrive in Blackpool from Cleveleys on 22 June, travelling along Anchorsholme Lane, Fleetwood Road, Devonshire Road, Warbreck Hill Road before joining the Promenade at Gynn Square.

The Fylde Coast’s £100m new tramway will finally be launched next week.
The official launch will take place on April 3, with the tramway reopening to the public the following day.
